About This Port

Niepoorts Late Bottled Vintage, is described as a blend of ports from one year that are not selected for Vintage Port. The grapes are selected from vineyards in the Pinhao Valley and a proportion are still trodden in the traditional lagares.

Since the 1994, Dirk Niepoort has tightened his selection criteria for the LBV blend which has vastly improved its quality. The ports are kept in Niepoort’s lodges at Vila Nova de Gaia until bottling. When bottled the port which hasn't been sold continues to age in Niepoort’s cellars. Thus is created a premium quality full bodied port which can be drunk now or if you like bottle age complexity, can be cellared for future enjoyment.
