About This Brandy

Chateau du Tariquet V.S.O.P. has been made from a blend of varieties typical of the region of Armagnac, Ungi Blanc and Baco. To be granted the V.S.O.P. status the spirit has to be aged for at least five years in oak casks.
Tasting commentary, by cellarman Francis Miquel :
An attractive amber colour. A richly powerful, concentrated nose, an aroma of warm bread with a hint of toast and gingerbread. When exposed to the air, superb aromas of a baker’s oven, rancio and candied fruits appear. In the mouth it is almost too smooth and round; there is no sensation of alcohol, but only woody vanilla. The finale is well developed with a recurrence of macerated stone fruits.
A perfectly balanced, very mature Armagnac which astonishes with its consummated marriage of wood and alcohol.

It is the most ancient and honoured wine spirit of France. During the XVIthe century, it was sold in pharmacies as ’medicine’. Since 1683 the Chateau du Tariquet and its vineyards have produced one of the greatest Armagnacs of the region.
